Kinvey, Inc., the leading mobile Backend as a Service (BaaS) platform for enterprise applications, today announced it has partnered with Google App Engine. Kinvey's platform simplifies the process of building sophisticated business rules for Google App Engine customers. Kinvey will deploy its core authentication and data mobilization features as well as business logic on Google App Engine, making it easy for mobile developers to consume Google App Engine’s built-in APIs and tap into a nearly unlimited set of enterprise backend systems.

“Enterprise mobility requires the convergence of Platform as a Service and BaaS,” said Sravish Sridhar, founder and CEO of Kinvey. “An enterprise-grade PaaS like Google App Engine hosts and scales the secure bridge into the enterprise, whereas BaaS delivers the right data all the way down to the mobile device.”

Kinvey promises to make it easier for Google App Engine customers to integrate securely with their organizations’ data- and authentication systems, thereby improving the productivity of mobile developers within the enterprise. The partnership will also make it easier for developers to incorporate advanced features, like image transcoding and voice recognition, into their mobile apps.

Sridhar added, “The next big trend in enterprise mobility is the growth of new business processes that enable secure, authenticated and contextual applications. Partnering with Google App Engine allows us to supply the ‘last mile’ to developers who are building these advanced mobile applications, such as business-to-employee apps that mobilize sensitive business data and govern how they are consumed.”

In addition to consuming several of Google App Engine’s fundamental services, Kinvey also is moving its large object storage from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform. The companies expect developers to begin to build Google App Engine applications using Kinvey’s platform next quarter.
