Boston to Host Inaugural Near Field Communication Week June 12-15

Three premiere near field communication (NFC) events will focus on awareness and adoption of technology to enhance customer experience.

We're excited to be a driving force in NFC week in Boston. Partnering with thought leaders in the NFC ecosystem, these three unique and distinct events are poised to drive awareness of the capabilities and adoption of NFC solutions.

OTA Ventures’ NFC Bootcamp™ training program and the AccelerateNFC™ incubator, today announced NFC Week in Boston. This inaugural program, comprised of three distinct events, launches June 12-15.

In partnership with the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge’s NFC Community Circle, the NFC Bootcamp will be held June 12-13 on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) campus. This two-day event is designed to educate business leaders on how they can harness NFC technology to drive brand awareness, enhance customer experience, and facilitate adoption of solutions available through NFC-enabled devices. Speakers for this event include:

On June 13, the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge is hosting the 4th Annual Auto-ID & Sensing Solutions Expo which will showcase today’s outstanding products, companies and thought leaders in RFID, NFC and other “contactless” technologies. Attendees will get to hear from and network with companies like SMARTRAC, Identive-Group, Cellotape, Verizon Wireless, HID Global, and the team from NFC Bootcamp and AccelerateNFC.

Then on June 14-15, AccelerateNFC and hack/reduce are hosting the Near Field Communication Hackathon, where developers will compete for cash and prizes creating NFC-enabled mobile apps and solutions focusing on enhancing social interactions, gaming, and building bridges between real-world objects and mobile devices. This free event is presented by the following sponsors: Blackberry, HID Global, TapTrack, Blue Bite, NFC Circle Boston, NFC Bootcamp, SMARTRAC, AB Note North America, Kinvey and NFC Jobs, with more being announced daily.
