IT Process Automation Software Provider gen-E Recognized as One of North America's Leading and Most Innovative Privately Held Companies

gen-E, a global IT process automation (ITPA) software company, today announced that it has been selected as a winner of Red Herring’s Top 100 Award, which recognizes the leading private companies in North America. The award celebrates the innovations and technologies that startups bring to their respective industries.

“It’s a tremendous honor and very gratifying to be included in the Red Herring Top 100, which has long been considered an elite group of outstanding entrepreneurs and promising companies,” said gen-E CEO Casey Kindiger. “This recognition reflects how far gen-E has come in just a few short years with our award-winning Resolve ITPA platform. Through Resolve deployments worldwide, we continue to break barriers to innovation and success for our business customers by placing human ingenuity at the forefront of workplace advancement.”

Each year since 1996, Red Herring has selected 100 winners out of 3,000 tech startups financed in the U.S. and Canada. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype,, YouTube, Marin Software, Palo Alto Networks and eBay would change the way we live and work.

“In 2013, selecting the Top 100 achievers was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “In fact, we had the toughest time in years because so many entrepreneurs have crossed significant milestones so early. But after much thought, rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the Top 100 Winners. We believe gen-E embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. gen-E should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation and intellectual property, management quality, business model, customer footprint, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.

“Through a uniquely personalized, interactive approach to automation – extending across business areas such as customer care, cloud, provisioning, service desk and more – Resolve addresses the most important challenges that organizations face today as they seek to grow and thrive amidst extraordinary competition,” said Kindiger. “Our software offers these businesses a powerful and cost-saving way to deliver and monetize new services and bring them faster to market; accelerate customer experience management projects as the basis for market differentiation; and move operations forward through greater enterprise-wide agility.”
