On June 4, 2013, VIP Sports & Entertainment broke ground on the new stadium that will be home to Northern Virginia's newest professional soccer and baseball teams. The stadium will be named Edelman Financial Field. Located in Loudoun, Virginia, Cavalry FC and Loudoun Hounds will play their first soccer and baseball, respectively, in Spring of 2014. "We are now within sight of the finish line: Opening Day in 2014. I am thankful to our many wonderful business partners, our civic leaders and most importantly our legions of excited fans for making this sports landmark a reality in Loudoun," said Bob Farren, President and CEO of VIP Sports & Entertainment.

Cavalry FC will be competing in the North American Soccer League (NASL). NASL is a second division professional soccer league, right underneath of Major League Soccer (MLS). With Northern Virginia being a soccer mecca and it having a wealthy economy, a new professional soccer team should find much success. Loudoun County and neighboring Fairfax County boost dozens of youth soccer organizations as well as die hard D.C. United fans who will enjoy a second source of soccer entertainment.

Beyond the great news of reporting that Cavalry FC have broken ground on their new stadium, it is also exciting to report their upcoming SoccerFest is a weekend full of soccer games, contests, clinics and everything in between. It will be held June 29-30, 2013 at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA. The tournament will be a 4v4 style with age brackets ranging from 5-16 and adult divisions available as well. Pro soccer players will be on hand for meet and greets and instructional clinics. It will be the greatest single weekend you can have enjoying the great game of soccer in Northern Virginia.
