We will continue serving Los Angeles and our country by creating green energy jobs and helping cities kick the fossil fuel addiction.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 06, 2013
Each year the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) honors outstanding local minority businesses to recognize the role that minority entrepreneurs play in building the American economy. This year, GigaWatt Inc was recognized as the Los Angeles Green Firm of the Year.
The MBDA selects honorees based on their historical financial success, economic impact, and involvement in community activities. Firms may receive an award for outstanding achievement in one of six industries: construction, distributor, green energy, technology, global/export, and professional services.
"We appreciate acknowledgment as Green Firm of the Year, and it shows that David can still compete among Goliaths," says Deep Patel, CEO of GigaWatt Inc. "We will continue serving Los Angeles and our country by creating green energy jobs and helping cities kick the fossil fuel addiction."
GigaWatt has innovated several solar solutions, including the SunPole(TM), a distributed, grid-tied solar module that easily connects to streetlight poles thereby eliminating land and transmission costs associated with centralized power, and the SunShelter(TM), the world's first grid-tied solar bus shelter that helps power the local traffic intersection.
