Landshark’s Ghost Chili Wing Challenge to feature “liquid death” sauce made from ghost chili peppers, named the hottest pepper on earth by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Landshark’s Pizza Company will host a Ghost Chile Wing Challenge at 6:30 p.m. on June 21 at its location at 763 Harbor Boulevard in Destin, FL. The Ghost Chile Wing Challenge is the latest in Landshark’s monthly wing-eating competitions.

June’s contest features a ghost chili-based Buffalo wing sauce, aka “liquid death sauce,” that is made from ghost chili peppers. Those who are able to eat 10 wings in under 10 minutes will receive a Championship Mug, a t-shirt and other freebies as a reward for eating some of the hottest wings on the planet.

The ghost chili sauce is just one of several wing sauces made in house at Landshark’s. The sauce comes from the ghost chili pepper, which was named by the Guinness Book of World Records as the hottest pepper on earth. The ghost chili pepper is more than 300 times hotter than a jalapeno and over three times hotter than a habanero.

Other wing sauces made in house at Landshark’s include mild, medium, hot and extra hot Buffalo; spicy garlic; Asian zing; teriyaki; Caribbean jerk; mango habanero; wasabi; chili lime; garlic parmesan; and spicy, honey and regular barbeque.

The Ghost Chile Wing Challenge is sponsored by Miller Lite and contestants are provided free servings of Miller Lite during the challenge.

The winner of May’s Ghost Chile Wing Challenge was Rachel in a time of 4:41.

About the company:

Brian and Sue Hassman have created the locals’ favorite pizza, Buffalo wings and sports pub in Destin, Florida. They had the vision to create something rarely seen anywhere across the country. That is a local sports bar that serves both great pizza and awesome wings. This was a lifelong dream of Brian's since he graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1991. He has had the opportunity to travel the country for the last 20 years checking out great pizza and wing joints and sports bars. Another thing Brian and Sue wanted was to create an atmosphere where everybody is greeted and shown great customer service; like a local "Cheers" tavern. If Brian doesn't know a customer’s name, he soon will. Another great thing about Landshark's is that they will put any game on you are looking for. They have pretty much every Direct TV sports station, including BTN Network and the NFL Sunday Ticket. What is great about the wings is that Landshark’s just doesn’t have a normal mild and hot sauce. They have 22 sauces and rubs. They also use a proprietary dough blend that makes their pizza unique and vouches for the best local pizza in town.
