CCTV images have been released by detectives in Blackpool in an effort to trace two men in connection with a robbery at a travel agency on Saturday June 1 - according to an appeal by Lancashire Police on June 2.
Lancashire Police reported that two men entered the Thomson Travel Shop on Birley Street just before 4.30pm, implying to staff they were carrying a weapon and demanding money from them. The men both described as white and in their mid 40-50s made off with several thousand pounds in cash, leaving staff uninjured but badly shaken after the incident.
A spokesperson from AlertSystems said:
“Armed robberies are a terrifying experience which leaves staff traumatised and often results in the loss of large sums of money. It is of course impossible to predict when these incidents might happen but a CCTV security system provides staff with reassurance and meets the needs of an employer to provide a duty of care to their staff. A CCTV system will also greatly assist in identifying and bringing to justice the individuals responsible for any crime that takes place on the premises.”
