St. Mary’s Medical Center Receives Prestigious Accreditation for Radiation Oncology

The hospital further establishes itself as a leader in San Francisco for imaging technology.

St. Mary’s Medical Center’s radiation oncology department has received a prestigious three-year accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR) – a rarely achieved “gold-standard” seal of approval from the field’s oldest and most respected accrediting body.

St. Mary’s is one of only two hospitals in San Francisco to have received the gold seal for radiation oncology. The department received its accreditation under the direction of Dr. Sara Huang, assisted by radiation oncology supervisor Richard Falasco.

ACR accreditation represents the ultimate in quality and patient safety. It is granted only to facilities that meet strict practice and technical-standard guidelines. Hospitals are assessed on patient care and treatment, safety, personnel qualifications, adequacy of equipment and quality control and assurance procedures and programs.

This is St. Mary’s eighth accreditation from the organization, more than any other hospital in San Francisco.
