After a lengthy career working in front of the camera, having hosted Entertainment Tonight and Win, Lose or Draw, along with series and specials for every major network, world-renowned TV personality Robb Weller, has returned to radio with a new one-hour live show “Hollywood Headliners with Robb Weller,” which launched April 4th on Universal Broadcasting Network.
Weller, the co-founder of Hollywood’s Weller/Grossman Productions, who has also served as a FOX 11 news anchor in Los Angeles, estimates he has interviewed more than 5,000 guests in his career, from heads of state to royalty and celebrities. Who he now hopes to get the scoop from are the everyday movers and shakers of Hollywood who keep the wheels of the entertainment machine greased on a daily basis.
“Hollywood is all about selling ideas and bringing them to life,” says Weller. “It takes a lot of faith and determination to do this. My new show will pull back the curtains so listeners can meet the entrepreneurs, marketers, directors, celebrities, casting directors, agents, and others who make this town tick.
“It’s their passion, creativity and willingness to take rejection every day that builds one of the most fascinating industries on earth.”
“We are proud and honored to have Robb become a part of the UBN Radio family,” says Ann Walker, co-owner and CEO of Universal Broadcasting Network. “Robb Weller’s back, and we’ve got him!”
Since 1992, Weller has been executive producer of over 40 reality-based TV series, from historical to entertainment specials, and over 9,000 productions. He has hosted The Home Show from 1988-89; co-hosted Entertainment This Week; and recently completed his 15th year as Host of the Tournament of Roses Parade for HGTV.
He has also hosted and produced “Entertainment Report,” the popular syndicated entertainment news radio program that aired daily in over 200 markets to over 14 million weekly listeners.
He has received 11 Emmy nominations, and shares a 2002 Daytime Emmy Award win with his business partner Gary Grossman for Wolfgang Puck. He was also the first inductee into the Washington State Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
“Hollywood Headliners” airs every Thursday night at 7 p.m. PT. Archived shows will be available through iTunes. For more information or to listen to the show, visit http://www.ubnradio.com.
