Before it was announced that the event would be a developer conference, reports were circulating that Apple would give the public their first glimpse of the iPhone 5s or 6 and the iPad Mini – this looks set for an autumn launch now.
As well as the operating systems, upgraded MacBooks featuring Intel's new Haswell processors are expected to be introduced. Tickets for the event sold out in a matter of seconds when they were released in April, but it was not until the end of May that the exact date was confirmed.
The exact specifications of the new operating systems have not yet been hinted at – apart from it being ‘flatter’ in appearance and design, with fewer ridges on buttons and icons, essentially creating a starker and simpler appearance in line with Apple’s design ethos.
Anticipation for new products is still high and the latest versions of the iPhone and iPad Mini are expected, as mentioned, to be introduced at a similar event in autumn.
Although there is no exact launch date of any additions to the iPhone or iPad families, as ever, The Snugg will immediately release specially made cases and covers – ready for its release day.
Les Yates, Marketing Manager at The Snugg said: “Although Apple fans will be disappointed they’re waiting a little longer for a new iPhone or iPad Mini, we are very excited about what the company has in store with its new operating systems. With a company like Apple, you know whatever they do it will be for the better.
“When the new products, like the iPhone 5s or 6, see the light of day, The Snugg will be immediately ready with a range of stylish and robust iPhone and iPad cases and covers to make sure new devices stay secure and look good while doing so.”
The Worldwide Developers Conference will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from June 10 to 13. The conference's technical sessions will be given by more than 1,000 Apple engineers to the developers who attend.
