Santa Fe, New Mexico (PRWEB) June 08, 2013
Santa Fe, New Mexico is expected to offer one of the best housing markets in the country, according to Builder Magazine. The publication’s Business Insider recently published a list of the Best Housing Markets For Next Five Years. Santa Fe was named as number two for best housing markets over the next five years. The report indicates that national home prices are down almost 30% compared to the period right before the bubble burst, but that trend is expected to change.
National economists expect a 3.9% increase in home prices over the next five years. The recent CoreLogic Case-Shiller report drew on the latest data to identify the best housing markets for the next five years. The study included median home price, median household income, unemployment rate and the change in home prices since their peak, to offer a broader view of the local economy and housing market.
According to this report, Santa Fe is ranked as number two. The top cities were ranked by the projected annualized change in home prices between 4th quarter of 2012 and fourth quarter of 2017. With home prices down 20.5 percent since their 4th Quarter 2007 peak, Santa Fe’s annualized growth is expected to increase 9 percent by year-end 2017, making now a great time to invest in a new home.
