This photo contest is an opportunity for homeowners to share the hard work they've put into maintaining their homes.
Foster City, Calif. (PRWEB) June 10, 2013
ImprovementCenter.com, a home improvement site dedicated to bringing homeowners the latest home improvement news and advice, is hosting a contest this month, specifically for homeowners. The “Renovating Right” contest is designed to showcase remodels and upgrades of homes across America. From June 10, 2013 to June 23, 2013, the site encourages homeowners to include photos from recent home renovation projects and explain what they love most about their new spaces.
Earlier this year, Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies reported in the Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) that the home renovations sector has been experiencing gains for the past year, and could continue for the remainder of 2013. ImprovementCenter.com wants to support homeowners who have been renovating right by providing a forum to display the hard work they’ve put into their homes.
“This photo contest is an opportunity for homeowners to share the hard work they’ve put into maintaining their homes and creating beautiful, functional spaces,” explained Lucy O’Neill, managing editor for ImprovementCenter.com. “Homeowners can share what they love most about their improvements.”
Users may submit a photo in any of three categories—kitchen, bathroom and exterior. Images can be submitted on the ImprovementCenter.com Facebook page, or through Twitter using the hashtag #RenovatingRight. Contest winners are determined by a panel of judges, based on such criteria as image quality, composition, visual appeal and responsiveness to contest parameters. One winner in each category will be awarded a $100 Home Depot gift card.
“I recently started remodeling my home and didn’t have a concrete idea of what I wanted to do,” continued O’Neill. “When I started blogging about it and looking at photos of what others have done. It helped me decide what I ultimately wanted my rooms to look like, so we hope this contest inspires others, too.”
