New iPhone App Gives Medical Personnel a Leg Up on the Job Hunt

MyMedicalCV.com, a Long Island based cloud service, has released a new mobile app which allows healthcare workers to safely upload, store, and disseminate their credentials to potential employers from their iPhones.

Why depend on antiquated files for your documents that can be lost, destroyed, or hard to locate? It's 2013, put them on the cloud through your iPhone or scan or fax them in.

Searching for a job is itself full-time work, and in a highly competitive job market, organization is key, and time is of the essence. For workers in the healthcare field, there can be even more difficulties. Applying for locums positions often entails sending copies of current credentials to multiple hospitals, an exercise that can become cumbersome when dealing with hard copies. And while keeping scans of documents on a computer is tempting, this leaves personnel open to data theft and other security concerns. This experience is what led Dr. Michael Di Bari, MD to create http://www.MyMedicalCV.com, and its accompanying iPhone app.

My Medical CV (MMCV) is a cloud-based service created to allow credentials, insurance forms, and other sensitive documents to be stored safely online, where they can be accessed any time, from anywhere. This allows users of the site to organize their documents, and send them digitally to employers, insurance agents, attorneys, or any other contact who may need to view them. Documents can be scanned and uploaded to the website, or photographed using the iPhone app. They can also be faxed into MMCV where they will be uploaded to the users account. Outside access to documents is fully controlled by the user, and can be set to expire at any time the user chooses.

“Safety and simplicity are my main concerns (for the user),” says Di Bari, “why depend on antiquated files for your documents that can be lost, destroyed, or hard to locate? It's 2013, put them on the cloud through your iPhone or scan or fax them in.”

Di Bari hopes to see the site expanding into other fields in the near future. “I would say any professional that has documents that they need to organize and have access to would have a need for this service. For instance PHD's, master's students, etc., researchers in general.”
