National Rail Enquiries, leading train information provider in the UK, is delighted to announce a win at the European Outsourcing Awards.

The award acknowledges their ongoing collaborative achievements in drawing together a range of best-in-class system providers - delivering the highest quality train information for its 400 million users every year.

Having taken place in the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam, the European Outsourcing Awards gathered together a range of European companies who continually demonstrate ground breaking innovation and value adding submissions in outsourcing. National Rail Enquiries was delighted to be shortlisted in both the ‘Outsourcing End-User of the Year’ and ‘Best Multi-Sourcing Project of the Year’ categories, going on to win the latter on the night.

The win recognises the innovative approach to service provision that National Rail Enquiries has designed, through contracting directly with different companies for each part of its website instead of using one Systems Integrator who then contracts a series of subcontractors to achieve the same end.

“This approach reduces our real risk exposure since we can be more on top of issues as they arise rather than rely on a Systems Integrator filtering it all,” explains Chris Scoggins, Chief Executive, National Rail Enquiries.

“Our approach is at the heart of why everyone I talk to is amazed that we deliver so much across our whole range of services with such a small team,” concluded Chris.

This sentiment is echoed by Martyn Hart, the Chairman of the National Outsourcing Association: “National Rail Enquiries is the pre-eminent multi-sourcing practitioner. The fact that it manages to deal with 400 million customer enquiries a year through all its channels - with a team of just 23 people - is testament to what can be achieved with outsourcing.”

Overall, the win acknowledges the specialist skills and individual role of each member of the small team that makes up National Rail Enquiries, providing just the latest success in a period of growth and development for the company.
