e2b anytime apps, a division of e2b teknologies, today announced a new Enhanced Inventory module for Sage 500 ERP to help companies track serial and lot tracked components to the finished goods produced from them.
Enhanced Inventory is built in the Sage 500 ERP application framework extending existing features for manufacturers of automotive, consumer electronics, food and beverage, capital equipment, and other products where serialized or lot tracked component are used in the production of serial or lot tracked finished goods. The new application fills a major gap in the product helping manufacturers comply with customer, vendor, and government quality assurance initiatives and mandates.
“Sage 500 is a fantastic ERP system for manufacturers,” said e2b teknologies President Lynne Henslee. “But there was a limitation in the product that prevented manufacturers from identifying which lot or serial tracked items were used to produce a serial or lot tracked finished good. For example, an electronics manufacturer may issue dozens of serialized circuit boards to a work order producing dozens of serialized computers. Without Enhanced Inventory, there is no way to know which circuit board was used on which computer.”
Enhanced Inventory also includes other enhancements for Sage 500 Inventory Management including the ability to print bar coded tags or labels for lots, serialized inventory, pallets, receipts, inventory items, and production. Other new features streamline lot-related activities through auto assignment of lot numbers for finished goods and vendor receipts for lot tracked items.
