San Antonio's Karen Crouch announces bid for bench, cites experience as why she is running

Karen Crouch is a St. Mary’s Law graduate and licensed to practice law in 1986. She was Judge of County Court #8 for 16 years. Crouch is well known for being Tested, Trusted and Texas Tough.

Judge Karen Crouch announced today she is running for Judge of County Court at Law #10 as a Republican.

“When electing Judges, experience matters,” said Judge Crouch. “After serving as a County Court Judge for over sixteen years, hearing criminal, civil and family matters and maintaining the lowest backlog, collecting the most money for victims and returning money to the taxpayers annually, I am certainly qualified for the bench,” she added.

Judge Karen Crouch served the citizens of Bexar County as a County Court at Law Judge for nearly two decades. She has been strongly recruited to run for Judge as a Republican for many years. In 1998, she started being approached to run as a Republican and it has continued over the years.

“I strongly believe Judges should run and be elected without party affiliation but that is not the system we have today,” explained Crouch. “Citizens know so little about the down ballot races and it is unfortunate because these are the races where they are most likely to come into contact with the elected official.”

Crouch said running as a Republican gives her an opportunity to make a difference. She says the Republican leadership is interested in qualified candidates with experience being on their ticket.

“I fit that bill,” said Judge Crouch.
