GME Supply Company (GME) announced the opening of its new international distribution facility, Columbia Safety & Industrial Supply, located at 1801 Westfall Drive, in Columbia, Missouri. The company’s 25,000 square foot facility hosts GME’s global flagship store, The Safety Experience. The building features a 5,000 square foot showroom featuring industrial safety and fall protection supplies, a 3,000 square foot learning center, offices, and distribution warehouse. The company relocated to Columbia from its Brooklyn, NY location in 2011.

GME applied for and was granted a rebate from Columbia Water and Light to improve lighting and reduce electrical usage in the building. GPS sun tracking skylights were installed by EnergyLink of Columbia that uses special mirrors which move and remain in perfect alignment with the sun from morning until evening, providing a free lighting source.

“All the natural light makes for a bright, productive, and positive work environment,” said Daniel Pobst, VP of Operations. “Plus, it’s good for the city, the environment, and the company.”

GME Supply CO was formed in 2005 by local businessman and founder Beau Aero, and has become a well-known domestic and international of communications infrastructures provider. The company is known for its diverse group of turnkey products and services, including industrial supplies, fall protection, safety equipment, professional tools, and related products.
