Nighthawk Offers New Instant Alarm Device for Electrical Utilities that Monitors and “Phones Home” when Alarming Events Occur

“Our latest solution is extremely practical for utility and energy companies to alert them immediately if there is a situation that can cause a long term problem for customers,” said Charles Kitowski, CEO of Nighthawk.

Nighthawk Total Control, the leading wireless smart grid solutions provider, announced today that their company has developed its DFD-947 device which acts as an instant alarming device to alert utility companies for copper wire theft, water damage to electrical equipment, equipment overheating conditions, as well as circuit failures, including power outages.

Secondary losses from such events can be considerable, as with failed refrigeration of expensive perishables, or damage from leaking contaminants.

When one or more contact sensors attached to Nighthawk’s DFD-947 triggers, the device will immediately notify selected personnel to help avoid further complications, including via text messages or e-mails.

Nighthawk’s Cloud based WebConnect technology and solutions uniquely address the challenges of utility and energy companies by delivering intelligent devices, secure Cloud applications and wireless connectivity, fully integrated as part of a global connected devices strategy.

Nighthawk provides a variety of solutions via public wireless, including AMI electric meters, remote disconnect devices, load control applications, security applications and more, that are immediately deployable when and where a customer needs them. Nighthawk products do not require a proprietary communications network, so deployment can be incremental. The flexibility of Nighthawk’s solutions enables customers to achieve their goals without having to replace entire systems, allowing companies to generate higher returns on their investment.

“Our latest solution is extremely practical for utility and energy companies to alert them immediately if there is a situation that can cause a long term problem for customers,” said Charles Kitowski, CEO of Nighthawk. “Whether it is a theft, or an overheating condition, a water damage, or circuit failure, the Nighthawk DFD-947 will reduce a company’s liability and increase satisfaction through its quick reacting alerts.”
