Burstorm, an enterprise software firm specializing in compute, storage, data center and network cloud services announced today that Leopoldo Toro has joined Burstorm’s leadership team as Executive Vice President of Sales.
Prior to joining Burstorm, Mr. Toro was the CIO for Grupo Posadas, a global leader in the hospitality industry. He led Posadas’ migration project to the cloud from five disparate data centers to a world-class Cloud service model -- a move that eliminated operational bottlenecks, increased application availability, performance and security, and transformed the business model from Capex to Opex. Today, Posadas’ IT organization leverages the Cloud to dedicate its resources to innovation and to strengthening the company value proposition to the market.
Leopoldo joins a seasoned executive team including former Oracle OnDemand President and current Stanford lecturer and Cloud computing author, Timothy Chou who serves as Burstorm’s Chairman, and 20-year+ Silicon Valley IT Sales and Services veteran, Brandon Abbey, Founder and CEO.
“I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Leopoldo as a customer of Burstorm and as the CIO of the largest hotel operator in Latin America -- he is truly a world class technologist and individual," said Burstorm's CEO Brandon Abbey. “With Mexico and Latin America demonstrating substantial growth, and specifically with the adoption of cloud computing, it was a very easy decision to expand Burstorm into the region. We are already seeing the extensive network of Enterprise clients and partners investing in strategic relationships to make a large impact in the market.”
Before Posadas, Toro was the Managing Director for AltiusPAR Solutions, a software and distribution Software-as-a-Service firm with customers in the US, Europe and Latin America. Under Toro, AltiusPAR developed and delivered a suite of integrated offerings including call center bookings, revenue management, loyalty programs, property management systems, business intelligence, CRM and a distribution platform connected to major electronic distributors such as Expedia, Booking.com and Global Distribution Systems.
“I am proud to join a premier and innovative company with an experienced and skilled team whose knowledge and products are unparalleled in the industry,” said Toro. “Burstorm’s pioneering combination of SaaS enterprise applications and Cloud consulting services enables companies to select the optimal Cloud solution and document architectural decisions along the way. Our software and BI tools help customers answer key questions in their journey to the Cloud: Where are we today? How does my infrastructure compare to the market? What are my options for the future? And, once our customers are initially migrated we continue to track the outcomes and provide industry benchmarking and best-practices guidance --always looking for opportunities for improvement.”
About Burstorm: Burstorm develops and sells an enterprise application that is valuable for any organization focused on reducing the cost of compute, storage, data centers and networks, while also providing infrastructure that can respond to the ever increasing demands of the business.
