Maria Snyder, Top Model, Eco-Activist and Eco Boys and Girls® Books Promoted at NEA for Environmental Education to be Featured at Brooklyn Children's Museum

Maria Snyder, top model and eco-activist, and her ECO BOYS AND GIRLS® BOOKS will be a featured reading event at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.

ECO BOYS AND GIRLS BOOKS focus on environmental education for Pre-Kindergarten to 3rd grade and introduces 5 animated characters who encourage youth and families to be better stewards of the environment and each other. The books are being promoted by the National Education Association’s Read Across America, Earth Week and World Literacy Day in 2013.

The 5 characters, who each have his/her own mission, include: Ernie Earth character (mission: Earth Stewardship); Ray Recycle character (mission: Recycling & Reusing); Sammy Sun character (mission: Energy Conservation); Lulu Love character (mission: Healthy Eating, Exercise & Compassion) and Patsy Peace character (mission: Conflict Resolution & Empathy). Each book is layered with specially designed “Take Action” spreads that reinforce key concepts and curriculum through game play.

The event will include a special reading of the first book, “MEET THE ECO BOYS AND GIRLS,” a short, animated introduction to the characters and interactive activities.
