Alan Black announces the release of a new book ‘Chasing Harpo’. It is available at: https://www.amazon.com or through the publisher’s bookstore at: https://www.createspace.com/4207942. This novel is offered in both paperback and on Kindle.
Black said, “This novel is about a zookeeper named Carl who has to save his friend Harpo, an innocent orangutan. Both Carl and Harpo are marked for death by drug dealers. Criminals, politicians and dozens of police chase Carl and Harpo across Alabama and almost everyone wants them dead.”
The humorous novel is fast paced with elements some parents may not find suitable for very small children. It will hold the attention of many younger readers. It is imaginative and original with strange and sometimes odd southern characters.
Black says the hardest parts to get on paper were the sections written from the orangutan’s point of view. A reader should find them wet-your-pants funny. It should still have a sobering effect about how people can sometimes treat the “people of the jungle”.
When asked about writing, Black reluctantly claimed being prolific. He has completed eleven manuscripts from various genres, although ‘Chasing Harpo’ is only the fourth book to be published to date. He said, “The discrepancy between writing and publishing is that a full length novel goes from imagination to paper in a month, but editing, copy proofing, cover design and publishing can take quite a bit longer.”
Alan Black has been writing full length novels since 1998. His works include historical novels, science fiction (military, general and western), general fiction and Christian fiction. Black says, “These novels are meant to entertain the reader and give him respite from the stress of the day.” He gives tips and training to first time writers. Alan Black’s newly released fictional book is sure to please readers from ten to a hundred and ten. It is modestly priced in e-reader and paperback from amazon.com and the CreateSpace bookstore.
