Texarkana, Texas (PRWEB) June 10, 2013
After the Texas Department of Transportation published accident data for the 2011 calendar year (data attached), the Texarkana personal injury attorneys at Grossman Law Offices have redesigned their website to reflect data that is relevant to the citizens of Texarkana.
TxDOT compiles data into general categories like Fatal Crashes, Fatalities, Serious Injury Crashes, Serious Injuries, Other Injury Crashes, and Other Injuries. While the city of Texarkana only had two fatal crashes, and two fatalities in 2011, the city had a disproportionately high number of serious injury crashes, serious injuries, and other injury crashes. In regards to serious injury crashes, indicating automobile and commercial vehicle accidents, Texarkana had 140 incidents in 2011. Those same accident types, either automobile or commercial, produced 297 non-serious injury events. 182 events produced serious injuries, likely referring to work injuries, premises liability injuries, or defective product injuries. That same category produced 488 non-serious injuries in 2011.
Texarkana personal injury attorney Jerrell Wise commented on the statistics, “These highlighted statistics indicate dangerous conditions on the roadways, as well as some unsafe working environments. Once we reviewed these trends, we decided the most appropriate thing would be to re-launch our website with relevant articles and information accident victims and their families could use. Data for 2012 should be available this summer, and again, we will be updating our site.”
The new site features articles specifically targeting these frequent accidents. For example, in the Car Accidents section, viewers will find articles addressing the rights car accident victims have and the obstacles they will face in attempting to seek compensation. Further, visitors can learn about the common problems associated with speaking to an insurance adjuster following a car accident.
Attorney Wise continues, “In addressing the high number of Texarkana work accidents, we created articles which focus on the two main types of work accidents, those occurring within a company that subscribes to Texas Workers’ Comp, and those occurring within a company that does not, called non-subscribers.”
The two categories are indeed very different, with varying remedies available to victims or their families. Within these two contexts, issues like contractor and subcontractor status come into play, as well as an issue like proving gross negligence, to even be able to bring an accident claim against a company insured with Texas Workers’ Compensation.
