After singing in the shadows of relative anonymity for seven years or so, The Lumineers released their first album last April; and suddenly, the siren song of success has been smiling on the band.

The Lumineers are a friendly, folksy folk group from Denver, Colorado. So far this year, their self-titled debut album peaked at Number Two on the Billboard 200. They picked up two Grammy and two Billboard nods, perceptibly pumping their popularity despite not taking home the hardware.

They’re also on tour, selling out each of the 70-plus dates on their U.S. and European jaunt. The band just spent last weekend at The Mountain Jam in Hunter Mountain and the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York. Their next gig is at the nTelos Wireless Pavilion in Portsmouth, Virginia on June 12.

Then, it’s on to the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, North Carolina on June 13, already officially sold out; Family Circle Magazine in Charleston, South Carolina on June 14; and Bonnarro Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 15 with Paul McCartney, Mumford and Sons, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Next is the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware on June 23, before the group embarks on a European excursion in the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Italy and Spain.

“The Lumineers did not try to invent a new sound. The rustic simplicity of their music is very popular right now,” said Felina Martinez at online ticket marketplace “Each concert is selling out, while several upcoming shows such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver, Colorado are already sold out.”

“That’s why we’re proud to offer fans the most complete and continually updated listing of concert tickets online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase,” said Martinez.

“To access the selection of cheap Lumineers tickets we have available, fans can go to and search for the Eagles – then select their tickets,” said Martinez.

Schultz and Fraites began writing and performing together in New Jersey in 2005. Neyla Pekarek (cello, vocals) joined in 2010 while Stelth Ulvang (piano) and Ben Wahamaki (bass) joined in 2012.

As of December 2012, their debut album has been certified gold in the US, UK, Australia, Canada and platinum in Ireland. It peaked at Number Two on the Billboard 200 in January of 2013. (Source:

The group’s Grammy nods were for best new artist and best Americana album, while Billboard’s were for top new artist, top rock album for their self-titled debut release and top rock song for "Ho Hey”. In terms of reviews, critics applaud the group’s intricate weaving of vocal harmonies with instrumentation, including traditional piano and guitar as well as cello and tambourine in their upbeat 14-song, hour-and-half show.

Scott Pukos, in his June 8, 2013 review entitled “Lumineers Charm CMAC Crowds” for, wrote: “Despite having only one full-length album in their catalogue, The Lumineers’ performance had an established, old-school feel to it. They weren’t afraid to dance on stage either, and the crowd often joined in.”
