We’ve engaged in a collaborative relationship with Qubell to define, develop and deploy world-class solutions that are able to match Kohl’s aggressive ecommerce objectives, said Ratnakar Lavu, Kohl’s senior vice president of digital innovation.

Qubell, an innovator in application deployment and management, today announced that Kohl’s Department Stores, a specialty department store with 1,155 stores in 49 U.S. states, has completed a successful initial implementation of the Qubell Adaptive PaaS (platform-as-a-service) as a component of its current omnichannel technology initiatives. “Rapid delivery of new, omnichannel features to online customers is critical in retail ecommerce, and we want to deliver our innovative ideas to customers more quickly,” said Ratnakar Lavu, Kohl’s senior vice president of digital innovation. “Qubell provides exactly what we were looking for: an automation platform to accelerate our application development processes and update and deploy our applications in near-real time. We’ve engaged in a collaborative relationship with Qubell to define, develop and deploy world-class solutions that are able to match Kohl’s aggressive ecommerce objectives.”
Kohl’s selected the Qubell Adaptive PaaS to provide continuous application deployment, continuous testing and environment management as a part of a continuous integration (CI) process for its new omnichannel initiatives. Kohl’s goals and reasons for selecting Qubell included the platform’s ability to:
- Speed time to market with new, omnichannel (e.g., web, mobile, in-store) features.
- Integrate with any technology stack chosen by Kohl’s.
- Adapt quickly to technology changes in the application or infrastructure.
- Provide application developers with fast feedback during the development process.
Kohl’s implementation has already proven key capabilities of the Qubell Adaptive PaaS. Qubell’s platform is enabling Kohl’s to automate the front end of its development process: from creation of code for new features – or incremental changes to code – through continuous integration and testing. Now, new builds and code drops can be integrated and tested in hours.
The initial implementation of the Qubell platform is an important first step in Kohl’s creation of a streamlined, end-to-end application delivery platform. This platform will provide Kohl’s with a systematic way to generate a continuous flow of new and updated features delivered directly to their customers.
Qubell, an innovator in application deployment and configuration management, addresses a primary challenge in online businesses today: how to reduce cycle times and continuously deliver new ways to delight, inform and serve today’s connected consumers, without fear that any change to an application or underlying infrastructure might break the system. The Qubell Adaptive PaaS empowers online companies to do what they have never been able to do before: put into consumers’ hands innovative new features and services, almost as fast as they can conceive them, without sacrificing control, reliability or uptime. Founded by pioneers in enterprise cloud applications and services, Qubell has its headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif. For more information, visit http://www.qubell.com.
