Expert endocrinologist and Laboratory Medical Director for Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute—Jon Masao Nakamoto, MD, PhD—is joining the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) to the nonprofit Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation (CERF) board, dedicated to investigative research and physician education in age management and preventive medicine, announced CERF, the certifying body overseeing the Cenegenics Research Foundation (CRF) and Age Management Medicine Education Foundation (AMMEF).
As a MAC member, Nakamoto will submit recommendations, critical analyses and expert opinions to CERF regarding modifications to educational offerings, curriculum changes and proposed projects. “I am excited to be part of a group who will generate new knowledge in the rapidly growing area of age management as well as insights that I hope to take back to my other worlds of clinical endocrinology and laboratory diagnostics. I look forward to sharing what I know and learning far more—a real two-way street of information,”Nakamoto said.
Highly prolific in research and academia, Nakamoto has delivered numerous lectures in endocrinology over the past 20 years and has been published in a wide range of peer-reviewed publications. He graduated cum laude from Harvard College, earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and earned a PhD in biological chemistry from UCLA.
“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Nakamoto with his impeccable credentials and high level of expertise contributing to our Medical Advisory Committee. His extensive background in endocrinology and his tenure as Director of the Nichols Institute—the leading endocrine lab in the country—dovetail into our Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation’s focus on hormonal optimization and hormonal corrections (when clinically indicated),” Dr. Beth Traylor said.
