The cost of driving to various rural locations and replacing the bulbs was of an excessive level and we are pleased to hear that the Council has decided to make the switch to LED bulbs.

According to The BBC, Devon council spends an average of £30 each time it replaces a light bulb. Last year the local council spent £2,070 replacing light bulbs in public toilets.
A council report concluded that switching to LED bulbs would result in significant savings because the new bulbs were five watts instead of 16 or 28 watts. Since taking the advice the Council have changed to LED light bulbs reducing costs to just £420.
“This year there have been 29 maintenance jobs and of those only 14 were to attend to new LED bulbs with most just being sensor adjustments,” added a Council worker.
The figures demonstrate the energy and money saving benefits of LED light bulbs, something that the Simple Lighting Company has been emphasising for many years.
