RJS Waste Management expands services offered during summer 2013, to offer training and asbestos surveying.

Building on years of experience in the waste management industry, fledgling company RJS Waste is expanding its services to include training and asbestos surveying.

Focused mainly on the removal of hazardous waste they provide effective site auditing and waste removal packages with an emphasis on recycling, where possible. Applying the Waste Hierarchy, outlined in Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011, RJS tailor storage plans and hazardous waste removal services to the specific needs of each individual client.

As the industry transitions over the next two years from Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations 2009 (CHIP) to the newer Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulations RJS chemical waste disposal services are well placed to assist clients in complying with all of their obligations including segregation of waste and record keeping.

Removal services include all forms of hazardous substances including chemical waste disposal, WEEE waste, pharmaceuticals and fly-tipped wastes.

Expanding on these products RJS is now providing a full asbestos surveying service, including asbestos surveys in London, Management surveys, Refurbishment/Demolition surveys and re-inspections as well as providing advice on clients’ 'Duty to Manage Asbestos'.

Owners and managers of non-domestic properties have a duty to manage asbestos containing materials under Regulation 4 of CAR(2012). Under the Health & Safety at Work Act employers have a duty to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all their employees and this applies equally to landlords and housing associations that have responsibilities to maintain certain areas of the properties that they own or operate and will employ tradespeople to carry out work in.

Anyone that is likely to come into contact with asbestos containing materials as part of their work must complete basic awareness training. RJS Waste now offer full Asbestos Awareness training courses in addition to instruction on working in confined spaces.

Managers of properties may also be interested in speaking to RJS to commission a Fire Risk Assessment for their premises.

RJS Waste Management UK Limited is a waste disposal company with a knowledgeable and friendly team that is committed to delivering quality service and expert advice.
