WordCamp Atlanta was a valuable resource for our entire team, and the information we learned there is being incorporated into our site design process.

The Southern Web Group office is buzzing with excitement about the upcoming venture to 2013 WordCamp San Francisco. In late July, the team will spend the weekend by the bay, getting to know other WordPress users and becoming more adept at utilizing this versatile platform to create dynamic, impactful websites.
WordCamp San Francisco is a community-based, organized and operated event, so the cross section of developers, bloggers, project managers and users is diverse, creating a collaborative networking environment. Held at the Mission Bay Conference Center, the conference attracts a broad range of WordPress enthusiasts, from novices to experts alike.
From the official WordCamp San Francisco site:
WordCamp San Francisco (WCSF to save keystrokes) was the first-ever WordCamp, organized by WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg in 2006. Since then, it’s grown to become the official annual WordPress conference with over XX speakers and 800+ attendees converging on the City by the Bay. Along with sessions by WordPress superstars from around the world, it features The State of the Word address, where Matt talks about upcoming WordPress developments and answers questions from the audience.
After sponsoring WordCamp Atlanta, the team was excited to become a more involved member of the WordPress community. “WordCamp Atlanta was a valuable resource for our entire team, and the information we learned there is being incorporated into our site design process. Continuing education reflects on our clients’ sites. Participating in these events moving forward will be beneficial not only to our team, but more importantly, to our clients and the work we create for them,” says Southern Web Group president Drew Barton.
Everyone is taking particular interest in sessions covering plugin and theme development, as well as advanced security and streamlining processes. For more information on previous and past WordCamps and the conference’s focus, visit WordCampTV.
This will be Southern Web Group’s first official conference since adding new members to the team, so not only is this an opportunity to learn more about the platform itself, it’s an exercise in teambuilding, too.
