Hireology, a web-based selection management platform, has announced plans to publish a new blog series about millennial employees each Monday. The series, "Millennial Monday," will focus primarily on recruiting, managing and retaining Generation Y employees, or those born between 1976 and 2001.

Citing a study conducted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Hireology explains that by 2014, 36 percent of the United States workforce will be comprised of millennials. To help hiring managers understand the most effective recruiting and managing practices, the Millennial Monday blog series will feature a different aspect of Gen Y employees each week. For example, topics featured will include job description development, interview processes and culture building activities.

"One of the most common dilemmas our customers face is attracting millennial job seekers to their open positions," said Michael Richter, Hireology's customer success manager. "Generally speaking, millennials' expectations and desires in a job are very different from those of the Gen X and Baby Boomer generations. In order to attract such candidates, managers are going to have to change their approach to hiring, and the goal of [Millennial Monday] is to help them effectively do just that."
