B2BWebinars.net and BlueTech® Research are pleased to announce the details of the next interactive web-conference in the BlueTech Webinar Series titled: Produced Water from Shale Oil – Technical and Market Overview. The Event will be held on June 27th, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EST; 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM BST.
Hydraulic fracturing of shale has not only revolutionized the USA natural gas industry, but it is quietly changing the landscape of oil production. When shale formations are ‘fracked’, some formations produce gas while others produce oil. Oil from shale formations is an emerging unconventional resource in the US that could revolutionize global energy markets, providing greater long-term energy security at lower cost for many countries.
Estimated U.S. oil shale reserves total an astonishing 1.5 trillion barrels of oil – or more than five times the stated reserves of Saudi Arabia. According to PWC, global shale oil production has the potential to reach up to 14 million barrels of oil per day by 2035. This amounts to 12% of the world’s total oil supply. Information released last month by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) indicates that oil and gas resources in North Dakota contain about 7.4 billion barrels of recoverable oil. Thanks to oil from the Bakken Shale formation, North Dakota has become the State with the second highest oil production.
It takes millions of gallons of water to frac a well. This webinar will explore the regulations, technologies and management practices around hydraulic fracturing of shale for oil production. Topics discussed will include the differences between produced water and flowback, the size of the produced water treatment market, latest dominant technologies for produced water treatment, who the biggest players in the industry are and where are environmental regulations heading with produced water.
