We concentrate on the software that drives the HMI experience and we are excited to see that the opportunities emerging revolve around a higher end user interface experience in a broader range of consumer areas.

The DiSTI Corporation, a pioneer of innovative and highly advanced graphical user interface software solutions, announces Embedded Computing Design magazine’s recognition of Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Darren Humphrey as a 2013 Top Embedded Innovator. Editors selected Mr. Humphrey for his leadership in research and development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) solutions for embedded systems.

The GL Studio ES (Embedded Systems) package, produced by DiSTI, enables a seamless transition from prototyping, to testing, and to the deployment of graphical interfaces on embedded systems without compromising performance or fidelity. One of the achievements noted was Mr. Humphrey’s involvement in the creation of the fully interactive 3D Virtual Engine Maintenance Training App featuring the Cummins 855 Diesel Engine. This app is the first truly interactive 3D virtual engine maintenance trainer available on the Apple App Store.

“While we are excited to be recognized for our contributions, DiSTI has barely scratched the surface of our abilities to provide solutions to the embedded computing design industry. We concentrate on the software that drives the HMI experience and we are excited to see that the opportunities emerging revolve around a higher end user interface experience in a broader range of consumer areas,” said Darren Humphrey, Senior Vice President and CTO of DiSTI.

This award highlights the industry’s foremost leaders who make significant strides within the embedded computing industry as well as spearhead development of innovative products for embedded design. Selected by Embedded Computing Design magazine editors, winners are chosen based on innovative approaches or strategies in their business market, such as a new product, improvement in operations, or an innovative adoption of a technology.
