"The Wine Blog Awards serve as more than just a chance to honor the work and passion of the blogging community and recognize outstanding achievements in wine blogging, but also as a means of raising the profile of the wine blogging community to the public at large," said Joel Vincent, organizer of the annual awards and co-founder of the Wine Bloggers Conference. "These awards, by combining both a public vote and the opinions of industry luminaries, also make clear that the best of the wine blogging community has become an essential element of the overall wine media in the United States and around the world, changing the way wine is covered, reviewed and reported upon."

Terroirist, winner of Best Overall Wine Blog, is published by David White. Terroirst won Best New Wine Blog in 2011 and has since attracted a significant audience for its regular interviews, its daily overview of and commentary on wine news, its wine reviews and a diverse approach to coverage of all things wine carried out by a cast of writers.

“This award is an enormous honor and I'm absolutely thrilled. I wouldn’t have started Terroirist if I weren’t such a huge fan of so many wine bloggers, so I owe a large debt of gratitude to all those writers who paved the way, a list that begins with all previous winners and nominees as they set the bar high for the entire wine blogosphere,” said White. “I’m also grateful for my readers and to my contributors—a smart, dynamic team that assures Terroirist is both prolific and interesting.”

Mutineer Magazine’s Alan Kropf served as the host of the Wine Blog Awards during the Wine Bloggers Conference, which was attended by more than 250 wine bloggers and wine professionals.
