We have a very talented and dedicated group of employees who are encouraged to share their ideas with the management team. It is because of them that we not only celebrate our past, but also look forward to our future.

Pentec Health, Inc. is celebrating 30 years in the business of providing nutrition therapies for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, and in-home care for patients with implanted pain management drug delivery pumps.
Pentec Health was founded April 28, 1983 as Pentech Infusions by local pharmacist Gerald Francesco. Early on, the company had become an established leader in providing traditional Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition (IDPN) and Intraperitoneal Parenteral Nutrition (IPN) therapies for dialysis patients. It also established an in-home care program for patients who require medicine to treat severe spasticity and intractable acute or chronic pain through the use of implanted intrathecal pumps (those with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, stroke, reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), failed back syndrome, and cancer pain).
In 2006, Pentech Infusions was acquired by private equity firms DW Healthcare Partners and Frazier Healthcare, and renamed Pentec Health. In order to reinvigorate and grow the company, Joseph Cosgrove was hired as President and CEO in January 2008. During his early due diligence, he uncovered the need for a specialized product for CKD patients who exhibit protein and calorie malnutrition. Later that same year, Pentec launched a reformulated nutritional supplement called PROPLETE®. More recently, in 2012, Pentec was acquired by investment firm Norwest Equity Partners, along with existing Pentec investors and company management, who together reinstated their investment in the company’s future. Mr. Cosgrove also was appointed Chairman of the Board.
“We are very excited to celebrate our 30th year in business,” states Mr. Cosgrove. “Our success has not come easy though; it’s been a balance of consistently delivering superior products and service, while also looking for new ways to enhance our offerings. We have a very talented and dedicated group of employees who are encouraged to share their ideas with the management team. It is because of them that we not only celebrate our past, but also look forward to our future.”
Since 2008, Pentec Health has experienced resurgence in their business with sustained growth and enhanced product offerings. The company has patented, and plans to expand the availability of PROPLETE internationally; received Gold Seal approval accreditation by the Joint Commission; launched live video conferencing capabilities between physicians and the patients and their caregivers; and has been recognized by the industry with numerous awards.
