Expecting families and families with small children can now find the highest-rated strollers, car seats, high chairs, monitors, and baby carriers available on the market.
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) June 12, 2013
Decide.com, a Seattle-based startup offering unbiased data-driven shopping advice, today announced the expansion to cover millions of babies and kids products. Expecting families and families with small children can now find the highest-rated strollers, car seats, high chairs, monitors, and baby carriers available on the market, as well as a 360-degree view on an item’s price: past price, current price and future price from dozens of retailers. Consumers can find the shopping advice on the company’s iPhone app, iPad app and Decide.com website.
This wave of products is the first major update since Decide closed on its Series C funding round from Paul Allen’s Vulcan Capital earlier this year. These new categories triple the number of products that Decide covers to 135 categories and three million products with more launching over the next several months. This is the first set of categories in a massive rollout into dozens of new categories. By the end of the year, the company plans to cover 100 Million products, giving consumers advice on the entire Amazon shopping catalog including clothing, shoes, jewelry, books and sports, with outdoor products and cars coming early next year.
Twenty percent of the products Decide tracks change price each day. Some products change price dozens of times in a single day, a difference of hundreds of dollars. The company’s price prediction technology--which takes into account past price trends, the number of retailers carrying an item and dozens of other market signals for each particular product--is 80 percent accurate in predicting these price changes. The company also offers a guarantee on its ‘when to buy’ advice and proactively pays consumers if the company advises to ‘buy now’ but the price drops further two weeks after the purchase.
Products Included in today’s launch:
For babies ready to start crawling:
- Doorway Jumpers
- Play Mats

The Decide iPhone and iPad app are now available with notifications and a personalized homepage for tracking recently searched or viewed products. The Decide mobile app has been downloaded nearly 300,000 times and received an average iOS user rating of 4.5/5 stars.
