“We believe mobile coupons published through Celltick’s distribution and publisher partnerships will open the doors to m-commerce for our consumers and merchants," said Komil Ruzaev, CEO of KupiKupon

Celltick, a global leader in mobile initiated commerce, today announced that KupiKupon, the leading provider of daily deals in Eastern Europe, will partner with Celltick to publish intelligently targeted mobile coupons to millions of consumers across Russia and Ukraine.

KupiKupon will have its mobile coupons published through Celltick’s distribution and publisher partnerships by using Celltick’s Real Time Coupon Server. Celltick’s patented technology coupled with its expertise and deep understanding of local consumer behavior and cultures will allow KupiKupon to effectively target consumers with valuable deals and offers for physical goods and services, based on the location and demographics of each mobile handset user.

Celltick’s mobile couponing solution will allow KupiKupon to effectively reach and intelligently target consumers in real time for mobile coupons that can be redeemed in store or online. Presently, KupiKupon operates in 52 Russian cities and in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Latvia and Estonia.

In addition to benefitting from easy and quick access to coupons on their mobile while on the go, consumers will have the opportunity to purchase deals directly from their mobile phones. Consumers can “Click-to-Coupon” to initiate a micro-transaction against the mobile coupon that is billed through the mobile operator.

“We partnered with Celltick because it provided the trusted expertise and technology for us to effectively reach consumers on their mobile phones and enable higher sales and redemption rates for our merchant partners,” said Komil Ruzaev, CEO of KupiKupon. “We believe mobile coupons published through Celltick’s distribution and publisher partnerships will open the doors to m-commerce for our consumers and merchants.”

“We are very excited to partner with a market leader like KupiKupon and provide a unique solution to reach and intelligently target a new segment of consumers with mobile coupons,” said Ramgopal Vidyanand, VP Marketing & Business Development, Celltick. “KupiKupon has done a phenomenal job in converting internet users into e-commerce consumers. We have no doubts that with this partnership they will create a new class of first time m-commerce consumers.”

In the last two years, Russia has become one of the biggest internet markets in Europe and KupiKupon was at the forefront of converting a large base of internet users into e-commerce users. Over 45 percent of KupiKupon shoppers made an internet purchase for the first time in 2012. Notwithstanding the reluctance of some Russian consumers to make purchases online, another challenge is their longtime distrust of credit and debit cards. In this country of 140 million people, there are only 11 million credit cards in circulation. Therefore, the ability for KupiKupon consumers to purchase coupons via mobile offers a unique solution to this issue while also increasing redemption rates for merchants.
