Arizona Innovation Challenge
My goal has been to build a highly innovative company and change the rules of the game to solve real-life complex problems along the way.

appsFreedom™, a leading provider of enterprise mobile cloud software for SAP, announced today it was named a winner in the Arizona Commerce Authority’s 2013 Arizona Innovation Challenge (AIC). The AIC awards the most money in the country for a technology commercialization challenge – $3 million to the world’s most promising technology ventures. Contest entrants across a range of industries submit applications detailing their ideas or solutions that involve innovative technology or scientific solutions to a specific marketplace issue in any industry.

“My goal has been to build a highly innovative company and change the rules of the game to solve real-life complex problems along the way. Our latest version of Mobile Cloud Software for SAP, appsFreedom v3.0, is already getting rave reviews from our customers and industry analysts, and it’s a tremendous honor to be recognized as an innovation leader by the Arizona Commerce Authority as well. These successes help energize our team even further in building our world-class innovative, global company based here in Arizona” stated Vaidy Iyer, appsFreedom founder and CEO.

appsFreedom’s enterprise mobile applications (Freedom Apps) and its mobile application development platform (Freedom Platform) help business users securely access and conduct transactions in SAP from smartphones and tablet devices. Such mobile access from popular devices, including Apple®, Android, BlackBerry and Windows®, helps employees be more productive from anywhere and helps businesses be more responsive to customers and evolving market conditions.

Contest entrants had to meet certain criteria and go through an extremely rigorous process over several months to enter the AIC. Criteria include: offering innovative products or services to meet a unique, underserved market need; be an existing corporate, for-profit entity; have between 2 and 30 employees; generating revenue no more than 12 months after the company begins receiving funding. Winners are selected from 10 to 15 finalist companies that have completed a multi-step submission process, and each winning company is awarded grant funding.
