White Sox Pitcher Jake Peavy Takes to the Stage in His First Charity Jam at Joe’s Bar Chicago; celebrities, country music artists come together to benefit Cancer Research.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy will step off the baseball field and on to the music stage to entertain guests in the first Jake Peavy and Friends Charity Jam on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the famed Joe’s Bar on Weed Street in Chicago. Doors open at 8 p.m.

The star-studded night will feature live country music from Jake and some of his celebrity friends in from Nashville, sports stars, live auction and raffle, appetizers, a VIP buffet dinner and open bar, and of course, some surprises along the way — all to raise money for charity to help end cancer.

“I’m taking my love of music, my desire to help others and combining them it to support cancer research in honor of my grandmother, Dama Lolley, who lost her fight with the disease last January,” said Jake Peavy. “We’ve been preparing for this show since spring training and I can’t wait--I know it will be a blast and a good time for all.”
