Nashville based entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mark Montgomery will speak at the upcoming Nashville Songwriting and Music Business Conference.

“Mark first came to my attention because of his involvement planning the social media strategy for the Dalai Lama,” laughs Amanda Williams, organizer of the second annual Nashville Songwriting and Music Business Conference. “A guy that can do that can do just about anything in my book.”

Montgomery’s first appearance on the entrepreneurial scene was back in the mid 90s when he launched a company called echo with the aid of Doli Stepniewski another Nashville based innovator. The two of them built their ecommerce platform into a million dollar company, and eventually sold it to Ticketmaster for eight figures in 2007.

Following upon that success, Mark founded FLO {thinkery} another innovative business focused on consulting that enlists the services of some of Nashville’s best and brightest including writer Kidd Redd, former head of Sony Records, Joe Galante, publishing giant John Ingram and guitar fixer to the stars, Joe Glaser among other luminaries.

At the upcoming Nashville Songwriting and Music Business Conference, Mark will be speaking about entrepreneurship and having the courage to invest in yourself.

“Songwriters need a lot of encouragement,” says Williams, “We wanted to bring Mark on board because he represents something timeless – a fearlessness we all strive to attain. He’s a great mentor to a lot of people and we know he will bring encouragement to our community of music business entrepreneurs.”

Mark will be on the Innovators Panel on Saturday, June 22nd 4-6PM along side his protégé Matt Urmy, founder of Artist Growth, voted MTV’s Best Music App of 2012 and Flick Wiltshire of Vintage Flick video production house.
