The Architects role in building performance analysis is essential to creating a more energy efficient and sustainable built environment, and we’re committed to providing them with the tools and know-how to do this.
Denver, CO (PRWEB UK) 12 June 2013
The use of energy modeling as part of an integrated design process has become increasingly important in the role of the Architect, and firms are now realizing that they must adopt new design practices to remain competitive. Incorporating performance analysis can seem like an added complication and is often perceived as laborious and time consuming. To address this, IES has enhanced its Architectural solution and made it easier to adopt into day-to-day practice. IESVE for Architects will be launched at this year’s AIA conference. Taking place in Denver from June 20-22, IES will be exhibiting at booth #4111.
The AIA’s release of ‘An Architect’s Guide to Integrating Energy Modeling in the Design Process’ in October 2012 is evidence of the growth in sophistication of Energy Modeling amongst Architects. IES’ Architectural Analysis tools help Architects to incorporate data driven and integrated design into their processes. Being better informed on performance from the start of the design process allows Architects to retain control over their design and not sacrifice aesthetics for performance, but marry them together.
With analysis capabilities including Climate Consideration, Daylight Impact & Strategies, Solar Intesity, and LEED Credit Potential, IESVE for Architects facilitates the delivery of better performing, resource-efficient designs. It also comes with a new training program, developed specifically for Architects.
By enabling informed sustainable design decisions, the VE for Architects helps deliver ambitious performance goals, while seeking opportunities to keep costs appropriate. IES technology provides rapid feedback right from the opening charette, allowing Architects to use specific site understanding to automatically outline suitable bioclimatic architecture strategies for their project, without having to build a model.
“We’re very pleased to be launching our new improved package for Architects”, says Don McLean, Founder and CEO, IES. “The Architect’s role in building performance analysis is essential to creating a more energy efficient and sustainable built environment, and we’re committed to providing them with the tools and know-how to do this.”
You can join IES at the following events to find out more:
Name: Intrinsic Sustainability: Bioclimatic Design, Performance, and Innovation
Date: June 21, 2013
Time: 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Location: AIA, Denver, Room 503
Gensler and IES will showcase how they have been testing a methodology and language of design to embed sustainable design principles into the design process. The session will explain Gensler’s approach to making sustainability intrinsic to the work of 3,000 design professionals worldwide. It will also explore how bioclimatic design principles and the Living Building Challenge can be used as systemic catalysts for change. Name: Free AIA/CES approved seminar
Date: June 19, 2013
Time: 9.00am – 12pm
Location: Sheraton Downtown Denver Hotel
This seminar will demonstrate how to use IESVE for Architects to amalgamate ingenuity and analytical understanding allowing Architects to design buildings that consume significantly less energy and incorporate low-carbon and renewable technologies.
