After weeks of online voting, Troop ID, a D.C. area identity verification technology company, has won the Small Business Tournament of Veteran Champions and officially been named the Most Veteran-Friendly Small Business in America by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes program. This annual award is co-sponsored by Spike TV’s Hire A Vet Campaign; a program designed to recognize companies with innovative approaches to facilitate veteran employment and retention.
Founded by Blake Hall and Matt Thompson, both former Army Rangers and Harvard Business School graduates, Troop ID is the first digital authentication engine for verifying military affiliation online, helping members of the military community access employment opportunities, financial resources, VA benefits, and military discounts from top brands like Under Armour and Overstock.

Judging for the tournament was conducted through a two-month period of online voting and panel review. From hundreds of applicants across the country, Troop ID was selected due to their innovative recruiting and retention strategies for veterans, veteran community engagement and leadership, as well as ongoing commitment to hiring veterans.

Troop ID will be featured in a custom spot produced by and aired on Spike TV this evening. In addition, they will attend the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Awards where they will be recognized for the work in supporting the military community.
