“We’re always impressed with the generosity that takes place at the register; the fact donations stay local to benefit area kids really resonates with store associates, customers and members."

A recent study revealed Walmart and Sam’s Club had the most successful United States in-store fundraising program of 2012, raising more than $41.6 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The Cause Marketing Forum identified and ranked 63 top point-of-sale campaigns, each collecting more than $1 million for charity in 2012.

“Dollars raised during the six-week Walmart and Sam’s Club campaign each year are crucial for our member hospitals, and our nation’s children,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We’re always impressed with the generosity that takes place at the register; the fact donations stay local to benefit area kids really resonates with store associates, customers and members. Support from Walmart and Sam’s Club ensures that children’s hospitals may continue to serve their communities by saving and improving kids’ lives.”

Since 1987, Walmart and Sam’s Club fundraising in the U.S. and Canada has provided more than $650 million for pediatric care. Funds are used by the community hospital depending on the greatest need—helping to provide needed charitable care, establish critical care wings, introduce therapy programs, and fund specialized, life-saving treatment and equipment. The 2013 campaign is going on now through June 21 at Walmart and Sam’s Club stores throughout North America.
