Hunger Games™ fans continue to visit North Carolina filming locations through NC-based tour company, Hunger Games™ Unofficial Fan Tours, which specializes in immersive experiences for fans. The tour company has expanded its offerings for fans this summer after a sold-out season last year.

Fans have the opportunity to re-enact their favorite scenes from the movie

Since the film The Hunger Games™ shot in North Carolina in the summer of 2011 fans have been flocking to see the filming locations. According to Hunger Games™ Unofficial Fan Tours fans of The Hunger Games™ are still flocking to Henry River Mill Village and DuPont State Recreational Forest, which were used in the filming of the first hit film.

Tammy Hopkins with the Hunger Games™ Unofficial Fan Tours said, “Fans have come from more than 42 states and 6 foreign countries. After a year of sold out tours our phones are still ringing off the hook with fans that want to experience the filming locations used in DuPont State Recreational Forest (The Arena) and we had so many requests from fans that wanted to experience Henry River Mill Village (District 12), that we have added those tours this year as well.”

Leigh Trapp with Hunger Games™ Unofficial Fan Tours said, “Our biggest request is for our Adventure Weekends. Hard-core fans get to join movie and book fans from around the globe for the ultimate immersive experience as they spend three days and two nights walking in the footsteps of their favorite characters from The Hunger Games™.”

Adventure Weekends:
Dates: June 21 - 23, July 12 – 14, and August 2 – 4
Fans start their Hunger Games™ Unofficial Fan Tours Adventure Weekend on Friday by gathering at Earthshine Discovery Center near Brevard, NC. First they check into their suite – which has been abandoned by a family. They’ve left special clues, which fans will want to decipher so they can “survive” the weekend. Next, fans will be part of a lottery and get separated into their own teams. They will then join other guests for a welcoming banquet – featuring foods of their favorite characters. In the evening they will night zip-line and see what it’s like to be in the treetops at night like their favorite heroines from the movie The Hunger Games™.

Saturday fans will be dropped on location in DuPont State Recreational Forest to see all the filming location sites used as the arena in The Hunger Games™ movie. Fans will then reconvene at Earthshine Discovery Center for lunch. The afternoon will be filled with survival classes that they will need to participate in the Game Simulation: archery, sling shot, fire building, special effects camouflage, shelter building and more. In the evening they will be treated to a Gala Banquet.

Sunday – fans convene for their own Game Simulation to see if they have what it takes to win. They will use their newfound survival skills – along with clues they have deciphered over the weekend – to survive – and even win the Game on Sunday.

Fans have the opportunity to experience Adventure Weekends on the following dates: June 21 - 23, July 12 – 14, and August 2 – 4.
