1. Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc (MERS): New regulations effective in 2012 require MERS member organizations to measure their own organization again six conditions, and documents the performance in a quality assurance plan; and those members with 1,000 MERS Identification Numbers (MINs) or more are required to engage a third party Organization to review and monitor the members progress against the documented Quality Assurance Plan.
2. Mortgage Operational Safety Assessment (MOSA®): Actualize is partnering with The Prieston Group (TPG) to deliver a series of remediation programs which are tailored to meet a lenders’ requirements based upon the results of the MOSA® which consists of a methodology and process that evaluates at least 11 different key aspects of mortgage operations and origination.
3. Mortgage Industry Standard Maintenance Organization (MISMO): MISMO is a governing body and consortium that leads the mortgage industry standards and definition of terms. The industry is moving more quickly to adopt the MISMO standards to remain in compliance while conducting business with the GSEs.
4. Selecting a Collateral Management Vendor: New processes and procedures have made collateral management not only important, but critical to a firm’s risk mitigation strategy. Obtaining a solution to address your cleared counterparty (CCP) and bilateral collateral management needs is critical. Industry deadlines are rapidly approaching, and time needed to install solutions require firms to invest now and guarantee they are in compliance with industry regulations.
