Irvine, CA (PRWEB) June 14, 2013
Ozzie and his brother Daniel are credited with cutting the greatest deal in sports history. After creating a successful textile business the brothers decided that they wanted to own a basketball team -- so they purchased the Carolina Cougars, an ABA franchise. They moved the team to St. Louis and renamed them the Spirits of St. Louis in 1974. In 1976, the NBA decided to merge with the ABA but wanted to cut some of the teams, one being the Spirits. The ABA offered a 7 figure deal but the Silnas opted for another deal – 1/7 of the “visual media” rights given to the former ABA teams in perpetuity.

This event is following a successful Executive Roundtable Dinner at Maggiano’s (Costa Mesa) on March 13, 2013 where the focus was on Leadership & Sustained Excellence with Sue Enquist who holds more National Championships (11) than anyone in the history of softball. She is UCLA Softball’s first athletic scholarship, All-American, National Champion, and Hall of Famer.
