Banner Group Brings Strategy Management Outsourcing to Lancaster Nonprofits

Former Hershey executive uses technology and innovative model to elevate strategy management capabilities of Pennsylvania’s community-interest organizations through outsourcing

On their own, most mission-driven organizations don't have the capacity or discipline necessary to operate effectively at both a strategic and operational level.

Banner Group LLC today announced the extension of its pioneering strategy alignment service and creation of a new business unit focused on the strategy management needs of nonprofit, public and private organizations serving community interests in Pennsylvania.

Unlike traditional management consultants, Banner Group’s new Strategy Management team has the potential to effectively serve as an outsourced extension of the executive team of mid-sized organizations in the region. Henry Yaeger, Banner Group’s founder and Managing Principal, will add staff to develop the new service for Pennsylvania-based community interest organizations, while continuing to serve the firm’s private sector clients which include a Fortune 500 and a multi-billion dollar global infrastructure company.

Margaret Marino, Executive Director of the North Museum of Natural History & Science, commented: “Henry Yaeger and Banner Group have a refreshing, new approach to elevating strategic thinking. Henry’s work with the museum was highly targeted but also very inclusive of a diverse group of stakeholders. They understand the need for an efficient process while making sure all relevant issues are identified, vetted and resolved. Henry brings clarity and precision to strategic planning.”

Henry said "Due to resource constraints, even the most sophisticated mission-driven leadership teams aren't equipped with the tools or staffing to be effective at both the operational and strategic levels. We help organizations elevate and maintain strategic thinking, while lowering their overhead costs. Our outsourcing model ensures disciplined processes that leverage technologies and expert facilitation, without the need for them to add more of their own staff."

Mary Cae Williams, Head of School for the New School of Lancaster, remarked “Organizations like ours have drive because we have a clear mission. But we need discipline to consistently focus on the most important issues for the future. Banner Group brings the expertise and continuity to help nonprofits like ours maintain maximum impact over time.”

Henry added “While each organization is unique, the mechanics of implementing a strategy management process are not. Nonprofits and other community interest groups could have more impact if they focused on delivering against their unique missions, and less energy on reinventing processes which they can outsource to us.”
