Travelers looking to stay in Manhattan New York area on Independence Day can still find good deals at quality hotels, but inventory is quickly running out. HotelsCheap.org, a leading hotel research company, recently surveyed the New York market to find the cheapest hotels with positive guest reviews. The study confirms that good deals on July 4th still exist, but that hotel rooms are quickly selling out. Tourists looking to spend July 4th in Manhattan need to reserve their rooms quickly or the best hotel deals will be gone.
The survey conducted by HotelsCheap.org analyzed the best hotel deals, not just the cheapest hotels over July 4th. Included in the study were hotels that had a 3 star ratings or higher and that had a guest review rating of 3 out of 5 or higher. Low quality hotels were excluded from the results. The survey shows there are 53 hotels in the area that meet this criteria but 32 are already sold out. Of the 21 hotels that had rooms available only seven are within two miles of Midtown Manhattan. Of the seven hotels in Manhattan, only two have more than 10 rooms available. Prices for these six hotels range from $145 per night to $169 per night, this is well below the average price of $201 for a 3 star hotel in Manhattan. These seven hotels represent the best hotel deals in Manhattan.
The cheapest of the best deals in Manhattan is the POD 39, with room prices starting at $145. The POD has a 3 star rating with a guest rating of 4/5. Located on 39th street the POD is only a block from the Grand Central Terminal. This hotel is family friendly and features baby sitting (for a fee), a rooftop terrace with complementary wireless internet, a rec room with an arcade, and a fireplace in the lobby. Rooms feature views of the courtyard or the city, and offer complementary wireless internet.
Perhaps the best bang for your buck is the Wyndham Midtown 45. The Wyndham Midtown is a 4.5 star hotel, and boasts a guest rating of 4.2 out of 5. Hotel room prices start from $161 per night, a super deal for a 4.5 star hotel in Manhattan, which usually runs $380 per night. This hotel has a chic rooftop terrace, with candle light tables. A business friendly hotel, the hotel offers currency exchange, and a bar where one can quench their thirst with a favorite drink.
There are still quality hotels with discount prices outside the Manhattan area. The average price for hotels outside the city limits were $138 per room night. Convenience becomes a factor though for travelers planning to visit Manhattan during the day. Tourists must navigate public transportation via subway, or taxi, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and can be an adventure of its own. It is not recommended to drive a personal car into the city.
