Leading technology company ASUS recently unveiled its new Transformer Book Trio to the world... to the music of DJ Code. Taiwan's leading DJ composed the music for the launch of the "world's first three-in-one notebook, tablet, and desktop PC" at the 2013 Computex Conference on June 3, 2013 in Taipei. MusicDish LLC signed DJ Code for international management and development earlier this year.
The music was composed for what The Verge described as "a modern-day tech ballet" featuring three actors embodying the three aspects of the Transformer Book Trio, set in different environments and circumstances to a video backdrop. Echoing The Verge's assessment of it being "more synchronised dancing than acting," DJ Code spent days with the same refrain "I need to work on the timing!"
DJ Code has had a full schedule working for global brands. In March, he composed music and performed in seven cities across Taiwan for the product launch of the Volvo V.40. He performed for the AUDI Showroom Opening Party in Changhua, Taiwan on May 22th. That same month, he composed the soundtrack for Mercedes Benz' launch of the GL CLASS Series in Taiwan.
DJ Code released his debut EP "The Gate" on Beatport in 2009. Soon, the single "Buddha" became one of the top 50 downloads on the site, while his composition has been at the leading edge in the electronic music of Asia. In 2010, he signed with HiNote Records and released his full-length album "Asia River." His work has since been used in TV commercials such as Kenzo and The Discovery Channel, while he composes music and performs for brands ranging from ASUS and Audi to Lexus and Taipei Expo.
