Simpson Travel Injects Fresh Zest into Paxos with Opening of Stylish Boutique Hotel

Traditionally an unhurried and quintessential Greek island with precious few hotels, pint-sized Paxos recently saw the arrival of a rather unconventional and quirky take on the standard hotel style with the opening of Simpson Travel’s new hotel on the island, The Purple Apricot.

As the name suggests, The Purple Apricot combines individuality with a touch of the exotic and the hotel’s flamboyant seven suites have all been individually designed by interior designer Jaxx Russell Flint, as an eclectic one-off. Amongst the hotel’s seven suites are:

  •          The Medina Suite which takes inspiration from the Middle East where rich colours, polished brass and hand-crafted rugs provide a complementary backdrop to the comfort of modern and stylish furnishings
  •          The Distant Plains Suite combines ageless décor with worldly craftsmanship to create a relaxing home-from-home for those who appreciate simple yet sophisticated design
  •          The Purple Rain Suite’s bold and brash namesake discerningly evokes the senses with its tasteful soft furnishings of luxurious tapestries, natural wood and tactile velvets

The theme continues outside with bright floor cushions and Eastern-inspired ornaments surrounding the sea-facing swimming pool. A concierge is also on hand to attend to guests’ every need. In keeping with this bohemian one-of-a-kind philosophy which until now has been almost unheard of on the island of Paxos, the company has further designated the hotel as ‘Adult Only’ – to preserve a calm and serene ambience, guaranteeing guests a real retreat from the day-to-day.

The Purple Apricot Hotel becomes Simpson Travel’s seventh hotel within its ‘Simpson Hotels’ portfolio and the second hotel to be designated ‘Adult Only’, after Arosmari Village Hotel in Crete. Prices for The Purple Apricot Hotel start from £898 per person for one week including flights, transfers, car hire and accommodation on a bed & breakfast basis.
