Car fans can win two great prizes for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, thanks to Peugeot.

Peugeot is offering two free tickets to Goodwood Festival of Speed, alongside a money-can’t-buy passenger ride in the stunning 600bhp Peugeot Onyx.

The French car manufacturer has already confirmed its stand at Goodwood will offer visitors the chance to “Enjoy the Ride” on a realistic surf machine – designed to offer thrills and spills and capture the fast, fun feel of the new 208 GTi.

Now, one lucky Goodwood visitor will get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to ride passenger in the sleek Peugeot Onyx Concept Car – a 600bhp supercar with 3.7litre V8 engine – as well as tickets for Saturday’s events at Goodwood.

Peugeot is a key sponsor of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013, which is now in its 20th year. To celebrate the anniversary, Peugeot is planning to expand its presence at Goodwood with a bigger and better stand than ever before.

The Peugeot Onyx is unlike many supercars – in that it has actually been built for use on the road. Rather than staying stationary and looking beautiful, the Onyx delivers powerful on-the-road performance within an idiosyncratic, copper-clad exterior.

The Onyx has been developed using Peugeot’s years of experience in sports performance vehicles – utilising NACA ducts in the roof to push the diesel V8 engine to a whopping 600bhp.

Intelligent HYbrid4 technology helps boost the Onyx by 80bhp, by redeploying stored kinetic energy via two lithium-ion batteries, and means the car has just 2kg per horsepower – so it delivers high performance with no compromise in design.

The Onyx will have its first public dynamic demonstration at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 – and Peugeot is running a competition so the public can experience a passenger ride in this sculptured carbon fibre supercar.

The winner won’t just get to feel the thrust as the Onyx kicks up to 600bhp – they’ll also get two free tickets to the festival to boot.

“The Peugeot Onyx concept car has been developed with the expertise of Peugeot Sport and the experience acquired from racetracks the world over,” said Nick Crossley, Manager Brand Advertising, Partnerships & Sponsorship, at Peugeot UK.

“Most concept cars are usually modelled for static appreciation – but the Onyx breaks the mould with superb authenticity, innovative use of materials and performance to impress.”

The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013 will take place at Goodwood House, Chichester, from 11th to 14th July. Peugeot is offering two free tickets to Goodwood valid for Saturday, 13th July 2013 only.
