With nearly 46,000 multi-family dwellings in Lexington-Fayette County, according to U.S. Census estimates, what features attract and retain residents? Andover Management Group is betting that hosting social events will build a sense of community within their apartment developments which will result in satisfied residents who make recommendations to others.

Lakewood Park Luxury Apartments, one of the Andover properties, on Laketower Drive, recently had a resident appreciation event at Coba Cocina Latin-American restaurant. All food and drinks were free for residents and guests. Photos of the event were featured in Tops in Lex (http://www.topsinlex.com/Photos/6347/Lakewood+Park+Resident+Event) and show the gathering was well attended and enjoyed.

Pool parties, meet-and-greet events with the owners, cookouts and taco nights have been popular happenings in the past. Property Manager Brad Rose said, “These events are entirely about keeping residents happy, getting to know them and make them feel at home, and getting them to bring their friends who might be in need of an apartment.”

In addition to the resident appreciation events, Andover Management Group maintains a Facebook page for Lakewood Park Luxury Apartments, as a way of disseminating information about news and events impacting the residents and as a way of making them feel a part of a defined community. https://www.facebook.com/LakewoodParkApts

The largest check that most people write each month is for housing, whether for rent or a mortgage payment. Knowing that, apartment managers want to thank their residents for choosing to write the check to their company rather than to the complex across town. Amenities such as fitness centers, clubhouses and fine finishes are important to apartment residents. But, as the Andover Management Group website states, “It takes more than buildings and people to make a community.” (http://www.andovermgt.com/lakewood-park)

In addition to the Lakewood Park Luxury Apartments, other Lexington properties managed by Andover are Beaumont Farms Apartments, The Lafayette Academy, Property 3 fifty 8, and Crescent at Shadeland.
